Attorney Curtis C. Coleman, III

    Mr. Coleman was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1958 and grew up in the foothills of western North Carolina.  Mr. Coleman received a baseball scholarship to Wake Forest University where he received his Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Economics and History, Cum Laude, from Wake Forest University on May 18, 1981. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on May 13, 1984.  Mr. Coleman is married to Vicki Coleman whom he met in law school. Vicki, also an attorney, is currently the Department Chair for Paralegal Technology at Pitt County Community College in Greenville, NC. Mr. Coleman has lived in and practiced law in Greenville since 1984 shortly after being admited to the North Carolina State Bar.

    Mr. Coleman has been admitted and is qualified to practice as an attoreny in the U.S. District Court for Eastern North Carolina and is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Pitt County Bar Association, North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants'  Representatives.  Mr. Coleman is a Certified Mediator with the Dispute Resolution Commission to act as a Mediator in workers compensation claims and civil matters.

    He has represented his clients before North Carolina Industrial Commission Deputy Commissioners at hearing, the Full Industrial Commission and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In the past he has also tried many civil cases in the District and Superior Courts throughout Eastern North Carolina.  He has represented many clients before the U.S. Social Security Administration and the Appeals Council as well as representing clients before the U.S. District Court for Eastern North Carolina. .

    Mr. Coleman's hobbies include playing golf and music and he has been a member of the Elmerald City Big Band for the last 25 years as an amateur tromone player.  He also plays guitar and can be seen on occasion around Greenville in various "open mic" nights playing guitar with several of his friends.
